The Little Shabby Garden, Vilnius

This family garden looked empty and traditional - with a lawn, a hedge and a slope planted with many-colored conifers and evergreen plants. The grey, uneven and narrow paths of concrete pavers were no longer comfortable to use.
The aim was to create a well-defined garden structure, plan new paths, planting areas which would create more privacy, and a new terrace in the back yard.
To achieve a softer view of the garden some conifers were removed and some pines repeating the existing ones, with some deciduous bushes and hardy perennials planted. It helped to create the impression of a soft, lush and kind of a shabby garden.
In 2017 the garden won the award initiated by the Lithuanian Association of Landscape Architects in the yearly competition „Trends", arranged by "Namas ir as" (House and Me) magazine.
